We are seeing more and more research about the benefits of flossing and that the bacteria in your mouth affect the health of nearly everything else in your body! Bad oral health leads to higher blood pressure and can create very serious conditions with your heart and lungs. Flossing is a great preventive measure to ensure great overall health. Believe it or not, dental string is not the only way to floss! There are floss picks, floss threaders, and even things like an air or water flosser. These spray water or air in between the teeth and will displace the “junk” between the teeth. With brushing, you’re missing about 40% of the surface of the tooth if you don’t floss! By adding in any of these options for flossing, you’re ensuring that you are cleaning the other 40% of your tooth surface, which will lead to better oral health and better overall health!
