Dental Emergencies
Toothaches never occur at convenient times and sometimes patients need to be seen on an emergency basis. Is it necessary to go to the emergency room or should I call my dentist? Today Dr. Kuiper explains what is considered a dental emergency and what to do about it.
Accidents, infections and broken teeth happen! At Sioux Center Dental, we are fully equipped to deal with these emergencies in almost all circumstances, for almost all teeth. We have seen people on a spectrum anywhere from a small chip on a tooth to someone coming in with major swelling and pain. We are set up to handle all of this and we are more than happy to take care of you!
Typically, swelling and/or pain is what constitutes a true dental emergency and we will do our absolute best to get you in as soon as possible. Most of the time, we are able to get you into our schedule the same day that you call. We work hard to get you in quickly because we don’t want you to suffer any more than you want to suffer! We are here to serve you, which is the whole point of customer focused care! After hours, all phones are forwarded to Dr. Kuiper’s cell phone. That means, you will always be able to reach someone and Dr. Kuiper will do his best to help you over the phone. If it is an emergency, Dr. Kuiper is willing to come to the office for both patients of record and patients who haven’t been into our office before. For those who haven’t been seen at our office before, there will potentially be additional time, expense, and paperwork for us to get you properly added into our system and cover our emergency fee. That being said, we would still be happy to take care of you but want to give you a head’s up!
